| St. Monica's Guild is the women's service organization of Christ Church of which, all adult women of the Parish are considered members. It was founded over 75 years ago and is named after St. Monica, a model of self-sacrifice, prayer, and devotion to others. The Guild offers women of the parish the chance to come together in fellowship and fun to perform acts of service to the entire parish. The Guild holds a highly anticipated and popular Chinese Auction each spring. A major portion of the proceeds of this event is turned over to the vestry to support the work of the parish. The Guild donates funds to the Sunday School for the annual Christmas party and Easter Egg hunt. Members of St. Monica's serve the continental breakfast at the annual parish meeting, host the receptions for Confirmation, First Communion and Newcomer Welcoming. Other special events, like the "Ladies Night Out-Candlelight Dinner," provide a chance for all who attend to come to together and have a good time. Meetings are held on the third Monday, with the next one scheduled for September 20th. Cake and refreshments are always served. There's a place waiting for you in the St. Monica's Guild and a chance to have a wonderful time with your fellow congregants of Christ Episcopal Church. |
